Manufacturing Quality Control Engineer

Location: Glendale, KY (Onsite – 5 Days/Week) – training first in Marshall, MI

Term: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Compensation: $80,000 to $120,000 annually (depends on experience)

Training Notes: There will be a training period of up to 6 months. During this time, this Engineer will be required to work from the Marshall, MI office, as all training is conducted there. Upon successful completion of the training, this engineer will be deployed to the Glendale, KY office for their permanent assignment. Accommodation in Marshall, MI will be provided for the duration of the training period. Relocation assistance is also being offered.

Job Overview

  • Be responsible for the quality management of battery core testing (physical and chemical testing, appearance inspection and other professional testing equipment such as CT machine and gas chromatograph), testing standardization, foreign base counseling and construction and other activities
  • Be responsible for improving the testing effectiveness of quality testing items (testing method development, testing effect evaluation, etc.)
  • Be responsible for improving quality inspection problems (daily data monitoring, problem analysis, setting up projects to promote improvement)
  • Be responsible for the development of detection methods, the improvement of detection efficiency, and the reduction of detection quality costs
  • Be responsible for pulling through the on-site process, equipment, production and other departments to analyze the process problems and promote closed-loop management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or above, major in science and engineering/management; Major in vehicle engineering/chemical engineering/materials/machinery/electronics/automation is preferred
  • At least 5 years working experience in quality control of whole vehicle manufacturing (main engine factory) and its parts industry (first-class supplier), experience in power battery industry is preferred
  • 2 years or more team management experience (≥ 3 people)
  • Be familiar with the relevant standard clauses of IATF16949, ISO9001, VDA6.3 and VDA6.5 and their application; Familiar with ISO17025 laboratory management system
  • Received training in quality tools such as 8D, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC
  • Familiar with quality-related tools, such as QC seven tools
  • Master the use and principle of conventional physical and chemical detection instruments, and be familiar with the development of measurement methods and the treatment of abnormal measurement
  • Familiar with calibration specifications of various measuring instruments and analysis of relevant measuring systems
  • Strong ability of pressure resistance, communication and coordination, and ability of data analysis and risk assessment
  • Good English reading and writing skills, oral English is preferred
  • Have leadership and can guide the team to develop positively

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Regular, predictable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role.
  • Ability to move throughout offices, manufacturing facilities, and construction areas, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25–50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting as required, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in varied environments, including offices, industrial, and construction settings.
  • Willingness to travel to other job sites as business needs require.
