Job description

Do you want to help us empower the next generation of leaders? Then this position is for you! 1,000 Dreams Fund exists to provide greater access to opportunities so that all women and students in most need may fully realize their full potential. Since our founding in 2016, we have granted out over $1,000,000 in scholarship/microgrant funding, provided over 5,000 hours of direct mentorship to students and helped them find employment and connected our beneficiaries with direct employment opportunities.

Building on this success, 1,000 Dreams Fund seeks an experienced Development Director who will be responsible for implementing the development plan for 1DF. This position will develop and execute a major gifts strategy; oversee the advancement committee; annual giving program, including digital media and direct mail; research, engage and track prospective corporate sponsors and donors; coordinate donor cultivation and stewardship efforts; maintain the donor database; and assist with special events. Duties:

    • Grant Strategy and Submissions: Lead efforts in identifying, applying for, and securing grants to fund 1,000 Dreams Fund initiatives.
    • Corporate Outreach: Establish and manage relationships with corporate partners, specifically targeting individuals responsible for philanthropy and non-profit partnerships.
    • Board and Leadership Collaboration: Work with the Board of Directors, Leadership Council and Junior Board to expand the organization's network and reach. This will include our advancement committee.
    • Develop and execute a major gifts strategy.
    • Oversee annual giving programs.
    • Coordinate corporate sponsor outreach and direct mail campaigns.
    • Support donor cultivation, stewardship, and impact reports.
    • Collaborate with board members, staff, and committees.
    • Assist with event logistics and social media related to development activities.
    • Handle administrative tasks within the Development Department.
    • Participate in additional fundraising activities as needed.

Qualifications:

    • Associate Degree or equivalent; 3-5 years of experience in nonprofits, preferably a similar position within the development department.
    • Experience with grant writing and corporate partnerships is strongly preferred.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and development databases.
    • Familiarity with social media marketing.
    • Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
    • Business development experience is a plus.
    • Passion for the organization's mission.
