Job description

Associate Director - Investment Sales

Midvale, UT

Commercial real estate brokerage isn't a job-it's a business you build.

At Berkadia, you'll work alongside top investment sales professionals representing owners of commercial real estate assets throughout the country. You'll gain exposure to every phase of the transaction while developing the analytical, relationship-building and business development skills necessary to become a successful investment advisor.

This is an opportunity for someone who is naturally competitive, intellectually curious, financially minded, and motivated to build a long-term career in commercial real estate investment sales.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Director, you'll become an integral member of an investment sales team by supporting live transactions while developing your own business development skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze commercial real estate investment opportunities, including financial statements, rent rolls, operating performance and valuation.
  • Prepare underwriting, offering memorandums, broker opinions of value and client presentations.
  • Research market fundamentals, comparable transactions, demographic trends and capital markets activity.
  • Assist in preparing property marketing campaigns and investor outreach strategies.
  • Participate in property tours, client meetings and presentations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, investors and industry professionals.
  • Prospect for new business through research, networking and targeted outreach.
  • Maintain accurate market intelligence, ownership databases and pipeline reporting.
  • Collaborate with Mortgage Banking professionals to deliver integrated capital markets solutions.
  • Support transaction execution from initial engagement through closing.

What Makes Someone Successful

The strongest candidates are:

  • Naturally competitive and self-motivated.
  • Comfortable building relationships and making outbound calls.
  • Strong analytical thinkers who enjoy finance and problem solving.
  • Excellent communicators, both written and verbal.
  • Curious about commercial real estate markets and investment trends.
  • Organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated by long-term career growth rather than short-term comfort.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, Accounting or related field.
  • 1-4 years of experience in commercial real estate, investment banking, finance, brokerage, underwriting or a related analytical role.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Financial modeling experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ARGUS is a plus.
  • Real estate license (or ability to obtain).

Why Berkadia

You'll join one of the industry's leading investment sales platforms backed by the strength of Berkshire Hathaway and Jefferies, with access to national market intelligence, industry-leading technology and a collaborative culture that values partnership over internal competition. Berkadia emphasizes mentorship, integrated capital markets capabilities, and long-term career development.

Whether your goal is becoming a trusted advisor, building your own client base or leading a top-producing investment sales team, you'll have the opportunity to accelerate your career alongside some of commercial real estate's most accomplished professionals.
