About FlightSafety International FlightSafety International is the world's premier professional aviation training company and supplier of flight simulators, visual systems and displays to commercial, government and military organizations. The company provides training for pilots, technicians and other aviation professionals from 167 countries and independent territories. FlightSafety operates the world's largest fleet of advanced full-flight simulators and award-winning maintenance training at Learning Centers and training locations in the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom.

Purpose of Position Design, develop, test and support manufacturing of flight simulators with an emphasis on cockpit and avionics systems, simulator systems, IO interfaces including serial data busses. Tasks and Responsibilities The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs.

Successfully completes assigned tasks of the job; applies and enhances knowledge and skills while utilizing sound engineering principles. Capable of modifying existing designs and contributing to original design concepts with senior teammate guidance. Design tasks include cockpit and avionics system design, simulator system design, circuit card design, and integration and troubleshooting.

Research and interpret aircraft and avionics manufacturer's data, as well as project requirements, in preparation for system and interface design. Perform operational, functional tests and troubleshooting of electronic circuits, avionics and aircraft systems components using specialized tools. Provide on-site and remote support during simulator test, hardware/software integration, discrepancy resolution, and simulator certifications.

Demonstrate initiative in developing potential solutions to problems using available tools and information. Perform within department budget and schedules. Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers.

Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks. Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance. Travel as required.

Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities AC and DC Electronics, Digital Logic theory and implementation, Computer System theory, Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs), Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), serial data protocols, Microprocessor/Microcontroller theory and implementation, and circuit/system troubleshooting skills. Desired - Microsoft Office, Computer-aided design (CAD) preferably SolidWorks Electrical, and Project Lifecycle Management software Knowledge of test equipment including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, data bus reader, signal generators, etc.

Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Able to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, Polar coordinates, Boolean algebra, and statistical theory; Able to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
