Job description

Job Summary
Responsible for developing enterprise custom applications using AI-assisted development tools and practices, alongside technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, Node.js, and Express.js. This role leverages AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) to accelerate development velocity, improve code quality, and drive innovation in business application delivery. This role also contributes to TDIndustries' AI program by designing and building agentic AI solutions including skills and agents workflows that extend AI capabilities across the organization.
Essential Duties
  • Develops enterprise applications using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate delivery, reduce repetitive coding tasks, and improve overall code quality across the full stack.
  • Provides functional and technical expertise within assigned business areas in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of AI-augmented business processes and applications.
  • Builds and maintains front-end custom applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS, using AI tools for code generation, refactoring, and review.
  • Develops back-end API services using Node.js, Express.js, and SQL databases, leveraging AI assistance for query optimization, documentation, and test generation.
  • Applies critical judgment to review, validate, and refine AI-generated code to ensure accuracy, security, and alignment with TD Industries standards.
  • Collaborates with IT staff and internal customers on new product reviews, tests, and pilots, including evaluation of emerging AI development tools and workflows.
  • Authors clear, effective prompts and prompt patterns to maximize the quality of AI-assisted outputs across development workflows.
  • Develops, tests, and validates application systems for deployment; integrates automated testing and AI-assisted code review into the development lifecycle.
  • Trains subject matter experts (SMEs) on AI-assisted development practices and creates related training and documentation materials.
  • Designs, builds, and maintains agentic AI solutions within the TDIndustries AI environment, including the development of reusable skills and agent workflows that extend AI capabilities to business users.
  • Authors and maintains skill definitions - including SKILL.md documentation, trigger conditions, behavioral constraints, and integration patterns - following established governance standards.
  • Collaborates with the citizen developers to package agentic solutions as governed, reusable tools that non-technical employees can safely consume.
  • Stays current on agentic AI frameworks, patterns, and tooling and brings relevant innovations into TDIndustries' development practices
  • Works with software such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Office 365, and agile project management tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • 2+ years of software development experience required
  • 3+ of hands-on experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3 required
  • Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar) in a professional development environment required
  • Ability to critically evaluate and safely integrate AI-generated code, including identifying hallucinations, security risks, and logic errors required
  • Node.js experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Transact SQL for extracting and updating SQL data and tables is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is preferred.
  • AI-related certifications preferred (e.g., GitHub Copilot Certification, Microsoft AI-900, or equivalent). Other relevant certifications welcome.
  • Experience with hybrid mobile framework(s) is preferred.
  • Prior experience with report development and maintenance (SQL Server Reporting Services) is desired.
  • Experience with PowerShell or C# is preferred.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering principles and best practices is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience building agentic agents, including tool-use / function-calling patterns, multi-step reasoning chains, and AI orchestration.
  • Ability to design and document AI Skills - discrete, governed units of AI capability - including system prompts, trigger logic, output validation, and integration interfaces preferred
  • Understanding of MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar tool-integration frameworks preferred.
