Bonaventure is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to join our Development Team. We are a residential development company based in the Northwest, committed to providing our residents with exceptional housing. We design and build senior living and luxury apartment communities
We believe the best environments are a combination of form and function. Designs should support the activities and use of each space, while offering comfortable, well-designed spaces for our residents.
The ideal candidate for this position is an entry or intermediate level designer who is highly creative, energetic, and action minded. As well as the ability to ask questions and a curiosity for learning new things. Experience in assisting and executing FF & E design for complex, multi-faceted projects is a plus. You will be working with our Senior Interior Designer, in-house Architectural, Construction and Development teams to coordinate and manage the interior design process from conception through furnishings installation. Emphasis will be on developing beautiful and functional environments for our residents. This process includes all phases of a project such as budgeting, ordering, scheduling, tracking, and installation.

What does a Junior Interior Designer do for Bonaventure?
  • This position is based at our Home Office in Salem, Oregon and will require periodic travel. No Hybrid or remote work for this position.
  • Work directly with our Senior Interior Designer to ensure that the interior design will result in an attractive and cost-effective design.
  • Research finishes and products, order and track samples.
  • Assisting in all design aspects: furnishings flooring plans, ceiling and wall detailing, finishes, decorative lighting, interior signage, and finish schedules.
  • Design, purchase and participate in installation of all Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E).
  • Provide official specification documents of all interior materials, colors and finishes, and schedules to be used by the Architectural and Construction teams.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications, working with project managers and development team.
  • Ordering and tracking of all furnishings and décor.
  • Research of vendors for quality and cost to achieve maximum value.
  • Manage the storage and delivery of all furnishings with the most cost-effective plan; schedule and manage for "on-time" installations.
  • Assist with multi-day Interior installs. Will involve occasional travel and physical work.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Interior Design
  • Experience in any phase of commercial interior design management including estimating through project completion, scheduling, documentation, owner/architect relations, quality and cost controlling, and problem-solving a plus
  • Ability to problem solve and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite.
  • Proficient in CAD and Revit.
  • Understanding of contracts, plans, and specifications as well as construction methods, materials, and regulations.
