Ellie Mental Health – Alexandria is seeking a Resident in Psychology to join our clinician-focused private practice in Old Town Alexandria. This role is designed for post-doctoral candidates who have completed or are close to completing their PhD or PsyD. This position provides a supportive environment to earn supervised hours for Virginia licensure.
Clinical Environment and Support
Our team in Old Town Alexandria is collaborative and clinician-focused. We provide therapists with private offices to help maintain a safe and confidential space for sessions. To support your growth, our practice provides state-of-the-art tech, marketing for a steady stream of referrals, and full administrative support. In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapy to a diverse clientele, with opportunities to work with individuals, couples, and families based on your expertise.
Job Responsibilities
• Evaluate mental health diagnosis, create, and implement a treatment plan, complete ongoing documentation including further diagnosis, treatment plan reviews, and case notes according to company policy 
• Provide excellent customer service for clients and collaborate with a dynamic team to further the mission of filling gaps in our community 
• Utilize creativity in interventions to help clients achieve and exceed goals 
• Prepare and submit individual documentation for each session per company guidelines and protocol 
• For Full-Time status clinicians must maintain a caseload of a minimum of 25 client visits per week 
• Coordinate services with case managers, families, work personnel, medical personnel, other Ellie staff, and school staff as needed 
• Attend and participate in all clinical staff meetings and trainings 
Qualifications
• Completion of a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or a related behavioral science field from an accredited university
• Eligibility for registration as a Resident in Psychology with the Virginia Board of Psychology
• Required experienced in completing psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and clinical case notes
• Effective written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to demonstrate and model stable, appropriate boundaries with clients 
• Ability to complete and submit documentation of services and other documents in a timely manner 
• Comfort and familiarity working with a diverse client base 
• Proficient in the use of Office 365 and Electronic Health Record systems (Valant experience a plus!)
