Job description

Job Summary:
Fastenal is a Fortune 500 company that has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies since 1967. They are seeking a Full-time Data Support Analyst responsible for supporting data extraction, processing, and reporting requests, while ensuring accuracy and reliability of data queries.
Responsibilities:
• Processing scheduled and ad-hoc data exports and reporting requests
• Identifying and efficiently extracting complex datasets from multiple sources through the efficient and effective use of well-crafted queries
• Reviewing and testing your queries to ensure accuracy and reliability, and debugging issues that arise
• Processing report provisioning and access requests
• Providing troubleshooting and routing of requests for support on data exports and published reports
• Communicating with requestors through the service ticket process to ensure successful and timely completion of the request
• Documenting queries used to explain their purpose, logic and specific considerations to assist in expediting similar requests in the future
• Adhering to the governance and role level security of data and reporting access relevant to each individual situation
Qualifications:
Required:
• 18 years of age or older
• Possess a High School diploma or GED
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
