Duties:

  • Create accurate and detailed plan sheets including but not limited to Title, Index, Typical Cross Sections, Maintenance of Traffic Details, Plan & Profiles, Details, and Cross-Section sheets
  • Prepare various components of road construction plans via โ€œmark-ups/redlines.โ€
  • Prepare accurate quantities and calculations
  • Prepare โ€œdisplayโ€ materials for Public meetings
  • Prepare initial Maintenance of Traffic layouts with oversight.
  • Prepare pavement marking design with oversight.
  • Assist in assembling various exhibits for Proposals and Engineerโ€™s Reports
  • Meet deadlines
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding clients and company practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Requirements:

Experience: Entry level; Experience in Transportation Engineering preferred

Education: Associate degree in CAD or completion of a 2-year CAD program


Skills:

  • Proficient with a computer and AutoCAD 2004 or higher
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D Design software
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Able to interpret and complete โ€œmark-ups/redlinesโ€ to Plan sheets
  • Able to work within a โ€œteamโ€ concept
  • Working knowledge of the Indiana Design Manual relative to CAD standards
  • Working knowledge of the Indiana Design Manual relative to Plan sheet order
  • Working knowledge in the use of the INDOT Standard Drawings
  • Expertise in geometry and trigonometry

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work seated 9 or more hours per workday
  • Able to work 40 or more hours per work week as needed
  • Able to work outdoors traversing uneven or difficult terrain
