Job description

Position Title: Plaintiff Personal Injury Associate Attorney
Salary Range: $150,000 base salary + uncapped quarterly bonus potential
Take ownership of meaningful personal injury cases, work alongside a driven litigation team, and earn without a ceiling on your success. A growing plaintiff-side personal injury practice is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to manage a diverse caseload of auto accidents, premises liability, trucking accidents, and other injury matters. You will guide cases from development through resolution, handling investigation, medical development, demands, negotiations, discovery, motions, trial preparation and litigation while supported by dedicated paralegal and operational teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants autonomy without practicing in a silo. The ideal candidate is ambitious, organized, and highly resourceful, with the judgment to navigate complex cases, the drive to push matters forward, and the communication skills to build trust with clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 75-100 plaintiff personal injury matters across pre-litigation and litigation
  • Handle cases from development through resolution, including investigation, medical development, demands, negotiation, discovery and motion practice
  • Litigate personal injury matters involving auto accidents, premises liability, trucking accidents, falls and related claims
  • Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions and other court filings while arguing dispositive and non-dispositive motions
  • Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters and defense counsel to pursue strong outcomes for clients
  • Prepare cases for settlement, mediation and trial while maintaining ownership of deadlines, service requirements and statutes of limitation
  • Collaborate closely with paralegals, partners and specialized support teams to keep cases organized and moving forward

Requirements
  • 5+ years of personal injury experience with significant plaintiff-side exposure
  • Strong background handling both pre-litigation and litigated personal injury matters
  • Experience working files through investigation, medical development, demands, negotiation, discovery, and motion practice
  • Hands-on trial preparation experience with the ability to develop a case through the trial stage
  • Admission to the Connecticut and New York bars strongly preferred, with exceptional single-state candidates considered
  • Strong negotiation, critical thinking, problem-solving and client communication skills
  • Comfortable working with CRM and case management technology, with Litify experience preferred
