Associate Dean Assessment Evaluation Jobs (NOW HIRING)

The Associate Dean provides leadership in curriculum and program development, as well as program
delivery across multiple campuses. This role also involves overseeing enrolment planning, financial and
administrative operations, and facilitating accreditation, articulation, and partnership agreements. The
Associate Dean represents the Facundo Valdez School of Social Work statewide, regionally, nationally,
and internationally. Additionally, the Associate Dean supports the Dean by contributing to internal and
external performance benchmarks and plays a key role in developing and analyzing data to assess the
achievement of School goals and objectives.
In addition to managing accreditation processes, program reviews, and course evaluations as requested
by the Dean, the Associate Dean helps shape academic and administrative policies. They ensure quality
assurance and compliance by developing necessary processes and ensuring adherence to the provisions
outlined in the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement), the faculty handbook, as well as administrative
policies and guidelines.
The Associate Dean fosters a supportive culture surrounding Tenure and Promotion and collaborates
with faculty, field education staff, and Student Affairs to address student-related issues and confidential
matters.
Community Event Representative:
Event Attendance and Community Engagement:
Attend and represent the Dean at events related to the FVSSW, both on campus and within the
community, fostering relationships and enhancing University visibility.
Academic Integrity:
Oversight of Academic Integrity Cases:
Act as the Dean's designated representative to oversee and manage academic integrity cases originating
within the faculty, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
Accreditation:
Compliance with Accreditation and Regulatory Standards:
Review documents and reports to ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards
and regulatory requirements with CSWE (Council on Social Work Education)
Academic Policies and Support:
Collaboration on Academic Policies and Programs:
Work with the Dean and faculty members to develop, implement, and assess academic policies and
revision, curricula, and academic programs that align with University goals.
Work collaboratively with the Dean and Program Coordinators to complete class scheduling and
recruitment of instructors.
Support for Academic Innovation:
Support faculty with initiatives related to academic innovation, including the development of new course
offerings and interdisciplinary programs.
Budget:
Collaborate with the Dean and the ORSP (Office of Research and Special Projects) to prepare budget
planning that aligns with School and University priorities and resource allocation.
FVSSW Dean's Meetings:
Attendance at University Provost Council Meetings:
Attend and actively contribute to the Provost Council meetings.
Academic Process and Procedures & Student Support:
Academic Appeal Process:
Participate in the Academic Appeal Process as the Dean's designee, ensuring all appeals are
handled fairly and in compliance with School and University policies.
Policy and Procedure Communication:
Ensure that policies, procedures, and operational information are communicated clearly and
effectively to School faculty and staff colleagues
Student Support:
Support student support initiatives (e.g., HU CARES) and other student services.
Support in Student-Related Incidents:
Attend to and aid in managing student-related incidents, including academic and behavioral
issues, in accordance with School programmatic and University policies.
Attendance at University-Wide Meetings:
Attend University meetings (e.g., Faculty Senate) and contribute to cross-institutional initiatives
and discussions.
Oversight of Program Reviews, Accreditation, and Certification:
Oversee program review updates, accreditation, articulation, and certification processes,
ensuring compliance with regulatory and University standards (i.e., CSWE, HLC, etc.)
Budget Preparation:
communication, coordinate academic planning, monitor admissions and retention, address
programmatic needs, and support strategic initiatives across programs.
Faculty Support and Development:
Provide leadership in FVSSW faculty development, ensuring they have the resources and support
needed for successful teaching, scholarship, and campus engagement.
Hiring of per-course faculty:
Collaborate with the Dean in the hiring of per-course faculty in alignment with the FVSSW and
University hiring timelines and standards.
Student Worker Administration and Supervision:
Coordinate the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, time approval, supervision, and
performance evaluation of all FVSSW student workers. Ensure student employee assignments
support School operational, academic, and student service objectives while maintaining
compliance with NMHU employment policies and procedures.
Curriculum Management:
Oversee the development and modification of curriculum offerings and academic programs in
collaboration the FVSSW faculty and Dean.
Administrative and Strategic Responsibilities:
Provide oversight for the administration of academic policies and procedures, ensuring they are
followed consistently.
Foster Collaboration Across University Colleges and Schools and External Partners:
Foster collaboration across academic departments, administrative units, and external partners to
advance academic initiatives.
Effective Communication with FVSSW colleagues:
Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders regarding
academic policies, programs, and initiatives.
Committee Membership and Engagement:
Actively participate in and contribute to various academic and administrative committees,
ensuring that the perspectives of the FVSSW are well represented.
Program Coordinator Meetings:
Coordinate and chair a monthly meeting of all FVSSW Program Coordinators, including the BSW,
BSW-O, MSW, MSW-O, DSW, and other academic programs in development, to facilitate
Enhance University and School Collaboration: Actively contribute to fostering strong connections
between the faculty, staff, campus, and community through participation in events and outreach
activities.
Ensure Academic Integrity: Ensure the thorough and timely processing of academic integrity cases,
maintaining fairness and transparency in alignment with University and FVSSW standards.
Maintain Compliance: Ensure that all academic, University and FVSSW reports, documents, and policies
meet accreditation and regulatory requirements, contributing to the continued success and reputation of
the University and the FVSSW.
Drive Academic Excellence: Contribute to the development of robust academic policies and programs,
ensuring they support University objectives and the continuous improvement and ongoing development
of the FVSSW academic offerings.
MSW/MSW-O (Cohort, faculty, and support staff development)
BSW/BSW-O (Fall 2026, with cohort additions)
Team lead for the DSW program development and implementation (Fall 2028)
Representational Leadership: Serve as a representative of the Dean in committees and University
forums, ensuring the faculty's interests are effectively communicated.
Financial and Operational Efficiency: In collaboration with the Dean, ensure that the budget is aligned
with faculty goals, contributing to efficient resource management and operational success.
Education/Background: The Associate Dean possesses credentials and/or education consistent
with HLC guidelines for teaching in their fields(s) as well as a track record of demonstrated
leadership, communication, and problem resolution skills. Preferred candidates have achieved or
are eligible for tenure.
Job Knowledge:
The Associate Dean possesses a strong understanding of NMHU's mission,
values, and organizational structure. This role requires knowledge of University policies,
procedures, and best practices to effectively support FVSSW and University goals. The ideal
candidate will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of academic leadership, accreditation
standards, compliance requirements, and program assessment. Skills in budgeting, faculty and
staff development and supervision, external relations, and student recruitment are essential. The
role also requires expertise in shared governance, curriculum oversight, and stakeholder.

Minimum Qualifications
MSW, DSW, PhD in Social Work
Experience:
Two (2) years as Chair or Associate Dean
Experience with e-Learning technology platforms and learning management systems.
Multiple Campuses and modalities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with first generation college students, Hispanic and or Indigenous communities.
Teaching experience at the college level
Familiarity with Quality Matters
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of university environment
