Job Description: Convenience Store Assistant Manager
Employer: CD Okemos 10, LLC (dba Mugg&Bopps)
Department: Retail Operations
Reports To: Convenience Store Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (unless otherwise designated)
Position Summary
The Convenience Store Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in daily operations, including staff supervision, customer service, cash control, inventory management, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in supervising and training store associates to ensure service and performance standards are met.
  • Support scheduling and coverage to meet business needs.
  • Ensure proper cash handling, register accountability, and daily paperwork completion.
  • Assist with inventory counts, ordering, receiving, and merchandising execution.
  • Ensure store cleanliness, food safety standards, and safety procedures are followed.
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve issues as needed.
  • Support implementation of promotions, planograms, and operational initiatives.
  • Monitor shrink prevention and report suspicious activity or loss incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with age-restricted sales, lottery procedures, and company policies.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty in the Store Manager's absence.
