Job description

Job Summary:
Parsons Corporation is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join their team. In this role, you will analyze, implement, and support cybersecurity solutions to protect organizational systems, networks, applications, and data assets.
Responsibilities:
• Supports cybersecurity programs and project implementation efforts and makes significant contributions to department goals, risk management initiatives, and planning activities.
• Monitors security tools, alerts, and events to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activities.
• Investigates, analyzes, and responds to cybersecurity incidents in accordance with established incident response procedures.
• Conducts vulnerability assessments and supports remediation efforts to address identified security weaknesses.
• Reviews system, network, cloud, and application configurations to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
• Collaborates with infrastructure, application development, and business teams to implement and maintain security controls.
• Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
• Supports security audits, compliance assessments, and risk management activities.
• Performs threat analysis and evaluates emerging cybersecurity risks and trends that may impact the organization.
• Oversees security testing activities and validates remediation efforts for identified findings.
• Maintains documentation related to security incidents, investigations, risk assessments, and control implementations.
• Assists with security awareness and training initiatives across the organization.
• Acts as a resource to managers and employees regarding cybersecurity best practices, policies, and security-related concerns.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of related professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, network security, systems administration, or related technical disciplines.
• Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response processes.
• Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms and security monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of network security concepts, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, and identity management solutions.
• Understanding of cloud security principles across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or equivalent environments.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS.
• Ability to analyze security events and determine risk severity and appropriate response actions.
• Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and coordinating remediation efforts.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure during security incidents and critical events.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Advanced time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate technical security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Must possess a SECRET Clearance (highly preferred TS/SCI or above)
• An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.
Preferred:
• Experience supporting enterprise security operations, security monitoring, incident response, or risk management programs preferred.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+, GIAC Security Certifications (GSEC, GCIH, GCIA), or equivalent certification preferred.
• Cloud security certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer preferred.
