How You'll Make an ImpactIf you are looking for an opportunity to create impactful, engaging pharmaceutical marketing assets that will reach healthcare providers and patients, you have come to the right place. We need an experienced pharmaceutical copywriter with a proven successful track record who is knowledgeable in deciphering medical and scientific literature, knows AMA style, and can produce high-quality copy in a fast-paced environment for both DTC and HCP audiences. Candidates must have experience concepting and creating new campaigns for pharma product launches in the US, especially in DTC.This role will report to the Director of Medical Editing and Copy in our Digital Experience Design (DXD) practice. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Medical Editing and Copy, creative and art directors, account managers, strategists, editors, and project managers on your brands to create strategic, compelling promotional copy that will help the audiences make informed healthcare decisions.
Responsibilities
What You'll Achieve
- Dynamic and engaging copy for rare and refractory diseases
- Campaign development and optimization for branded and unbranded pharma ads
- Range of deliverables with a focus on websites and emails for DTC and HCP audiences
- Full span of copywriting services from reviewing creative briefs to final reads of approved work
- Autonomously manage daily workflow on assigned projects
- Distill medical and scientific information into compelling, understandable marketing copy
- Understand and analyze medical references/literature and translate that information into high-quality promotional content
- Interpret clinical data and other complex information
- Create copy according to AMA style and client's brand style guides
- Use core claims documents to leverage client-approved copy from agency partners/in-house creation
- Annotate manuscripts and highlight supporting references
- Initiate, drive content development, and take ownership of assets from kick-off through final approval
- Work collaboratively with editors and address feedback professionally from all partners
- Update manuscripts based on feedback from editorial, strategy, creative directors, and account teams
- Become familiar with many brands to work seamlessly across accounts when needed
- Pivot from DTC to HCP writing whenever needed
- Stay abreast of industry practices and regulatory requirements that affect pharma advertising
- Produce deliverables in accordance with regulatory and industry requirements/barriers
- Work collaboratively with internal teams (editorial, account, strategy, art, and web design) and client
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
- Actively participate in planning meetings, project kick-offs, internal status, client status, brainstorming meetings, and internal and client presentations of your work
- Participate in client meetings and independently incorporate feedback and prepare submissions
- Display a high level of motivation, flexibility, and multi-tasking under deadline pressures
- Implement all aspects of administrative responsibilities (weekly timesheets, status updates, calendar)
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed
- Some travel may be required
Qualifications
Who You Are
- Minimum 3 years' experience in pharmaceutical copywriting at a pharma marketing agency with proven DTC and HCP proficiency
- Strong understanding of scientific and medical references/information
- Proven content development expertise and collaborator
- Develop creative concepts for new campaigns, partnering with design and strategy teams
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to develop unique customer solutions
- Confidently annotate manuscripts and highlight supporting references
- Impeccable use of English grammar for oral and written communications
- Excellent analytical skills
- Organizational skills and great attention to detail, with absolute commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple simultaneous tasks
- Ability to participate and interact effectively with teams, including providing rationale for your work
- Be a solid listener and professional partner when receiving feedback or changes
- Effectively manage time, multi-task, and handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment

Base Salary: $67,800.00 - $136,600.00
Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon, but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location and application employment laws. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
