Your role at Clorox:
Electro is The Clorox Company's in-house agency and bespoke creative partner, tailored to our Marketing and Brand agenda across our entire portfolio of iconic brands. Our internal creative team works with our lead agencies of record. It also partners with and often supplements the work of the other external agencies in Clorox's ecosystem. Agency has approximately 180 Clorox employees and contract employees in two locations: Oakland, CA, Durham, NC.
Electro Creative Workshop is looking for an Associate Creative Director of Print & Packaging. This is a hybrid role based out of our Corporate office in Oakland, CA. Partnering with account management, project management, and strategy, you will lead the day-to-day development and execution of packaging concepts, and bring them to life on the physical and digital shelf.
The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for creating breakthrough creative work.
From shaping the Big Idea to perfecting the smallest back panel detail, do you live and breathe CPG design? Are you a big-picture thinker with a keen eye for culture, trends, consumer behavior, and-of course-great design?
At Electro, you'll work side-by-side with our brand partners to turn business challenges into breakthrough packaging - elevating the consumer experience to drive superiority for our family of iconic brands. Reporting to the Creative Director, you will be partnered with an Associate Creative Director of Digital & Content. Together, you will be a powerful force collaborating and integrating workflows while executing and driving brand consistency across all touchpoints.
This position will be located in our Oakland, CA office, and the individual will be expected to be in the office of 3 days a week
In this role, you will:
CREATIVE DIRECTION AND MARKETING
  • Create consumer-centric packaging which appeals to a variety of audiences, with a growing focus on younger, multicultural millennial audiences.
  • Manage print/packaging creative execution for a group of Clorox brands, ensuring a standard of excellence and consistency across all our creative.
  • Drive the creative vision for our brands, maintaining and elevating brand standards to ensure consistent and compelling brand voice.
  • Experience partnering with strategy and content creatives to create a consistent brand experience across all touch points, from physical and digital shelf to owned digital and social media.
  • Create coherent marketing ecosystem across brands, in partnership with Associate Creative Director - Digital & Content.
  • Work closely with partners in account management, strategy and project management to understand business goals and brainstorm creative solutions.
  • Serve as primary creative contact for brand partners.
  • Strong point of view, including an ability to make decisions on creative concepts for presentations, and a willingness to make strong recommendations to brand partners - with compelling rationale - on which option best solves the business challenge.
  • Meets team speed and quick-turn deliverables, allowing work with low creative lift to move quickly into execution.
  • Assemble creative presentations, from concept to execution through production with the help of account and project management.

CLIENT MANAGEMENT/EXTERNAL FOCUS
  • Establish strong, productive relationships with brand partners
  • Understand our corporate strategy and goals. Ensure all Electro strategies are tied to them, and they are effectively communicated to the team.
  • Stays abreast of industry and marketing landscape, understanding best practices and new opportunities

What we look for:
  • 8+ years experience of hands-on creative, art direction and design strategy, in service of the world's best consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands
  • Portfolio showcasing a broad range of outstanding CPG and omni-channel work
  • Excellent conceptual, executional and art direction skills
  • A natural storyteller who can hold the room and sell the right idea
  • Ability to provide concise direction and constructive feedback
  • Experience developing brand standards and brand voice
  • Big brand experience is a must

Desirable requirements:
  • Creative experience in a medium to large organization
  • Understanding the print production process and workflow, with experience collaborating with production artists.
  • Direction of photo shoots and setting consistent and ownable asset libraries that work across entire brand ecosystems
  • On set creative oversight experience for video and photoshoots
  • International experience is a plus.

Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
-Zone A: $131,200 - $258,500
-Zone B: $120,300 - $237,000
-Zone C: $109,400 - $215,500
