Courier
POSITION PROFILE
Ensures customers' satisfaction by making pick-ups and deliveries in a proficient and timely manner. This position reports directly to the Site Manager, Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Manager, depending on site personnel configuration.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Delivers messages, telegrams, documents, packages, and other items to business establishments and by performing the following duties:
  • Travels to delivery site on foot or by bicycle, automobile or public conveyance, Customer Vehicles.
  • Keeps log of items received and delivered.
  • Obtains receipts or for articles delivered.
  • Follows appropriate chain of custody protocols (I.E.: TRAC)
  • Services vehicle driven, such as checking fluid levels and replenishing fuel.
  • Performs pick-up and delivery of jobs by accurately following a map and/or written instructions.
  • Follows RICOH Service Excellence performance requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with state and company standards by operating a vehicle in a safe and lawful manner and following company guidelines in the event of an accident and/or injury.
  • Responds to client requests, ensuring the accuracy of the order taken and delivery of the completed orders in a timely manner. paperwork in a timely, accurate and legible manner.
  • Presents professional appearance to clients by dressing in professional attire according to company standards.
  • Responsible for communicating vehicle safety by maintaining routine maintenance on all delivery vehicles (oil change, tire rotation, etc.) according to company specifications.
  • Meets company attendance standards by reporting to work punctually and working all scheduled hours and any required overtime.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Able to work independently, making sound decisions with the needs of the customer and the business in mind.

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)
Typically Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Requires valid state driver's license and driving record that meets company standards.
  • Requires experience in electronic communication devices and experience in a team environment.

  • Good customer service and communications skills
  • Ability to read map, follow written instructions and complete paperwork accurately, good reading comprehension.

Working Conditions, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Couriers spend most of their time alone, making deliveries, and usually are not closely supervised. Those who deliver by bicycle are exposed to all weather conditions, as well as to the many hazards associated with heavy traffic. Car, van, and truck Couriers must sometimes carry heavy loads, either manually or with the aid of a hand truck.
  • They also deal with difficult parking situations, as well as traffic jams and road construction.
  • When in the office, typically, an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level based on the geographic location of the site.
  • Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction • prepare, Work requires walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that can weigh as much as 50 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.).
