Associate Corporate Counsel
Location: SAFCO Corporate Headquarters, Pompano Beach, Florida

We're seeking a motivated attorney early in their legal career who is looking for more than just another legal role. We're looking for someone who wants exposure, responsibility, mentorship, and the opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing organization.
This position offers a salary of $100,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on experience.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with senior leaders and department heads to provide practical legal guidance on a variety of business matters.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside counsel relationships and litigation matters.
  • Assist with employment-related legal issues and workplace matters.
  • Support corporate governance activities and legal documentation.
  • Research and analyze legal issues, providing clear recommendations and solutions.
  • Develop legal policies, templates, and processes that support business objectives.
  • Help identify legal risks and recommend practical solutions that balance protection with business needs.
  • Oversee SAFCOโ€™s state licensing program.
  • Support the originations and account services departments with legal research and policies related to the consumer finance industry. (e.g., FDCPA, TILA lt; FCRA, etc.).
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to support strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Support the buildout of the companyโ€™s compliance management system.
  • Monitor legal developments affecting the company and provide timely, practical recommendations to address emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Perform other legal duties and special projects as assigned.
What You Bring
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission.
  • Approximately 1โ€“5 years of legal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, judicial clerkship, or a combination of these environments.
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, legal research, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A desire to learn, grow, and build a long-term career within a dynamic organization.
