Working under the direction of the Health and Safety team, this role assists with implementing and communicating company safety programs and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position also helps to ensure that project sites and offices provide a safe working environment for employees, customers, and vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety Program & Administrative Support:
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks supporting safety programs and compliance efforts.
  • Help maintain safety documentation and records in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Support the tracking and documentation of safety-related incidents, injuries, and near misses.
  • Enter and update information in safety databases and learning management systems to ensure training records remain current.
  • Assist in preparing basic safety reports, spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.
  • Support the submission of compliance documentation, insurance forms, and customer safety requirements as directed.

Training Coordination & Support:
  • Help schedule employee and contractor safety training sessions, including preparing materials and classroom logistics.
  • Assist with distributing training resources, forms, and safety communications.
  • Track required safety certifications and follow up with employees regarding completion deadlines.
  • Support inventory tracking of safety supplies, PPE materials, and training resources.
  • Maintain data for customer pre-qualification and safety compliance platforms.

Field Support & Hazard Awareness:
  • Participate in site safety inspections alongside safety team members to support hazard identification efforts.
  • Assist in reporting unsafe conditions or behaviors and documenting corrective actions.
  • Help ensure job sites are equipped with appropriate safety, first aid, and fire prevention supplies.
  • Partner with field personnel to promote safety awareness and reinforce safe work practices.

Council & Department Coordination:
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for Safety Council meetings, including scheduling and materials preparation.
  • Assist with maintaining department files, meeting documentation, and regulatory records.
  • Support internal safety communications by routing correspondence and organizing centralized documentation.

Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:
  • Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
  • Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.
  • Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents.
  • Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
  • Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
  • Interest in workplace safety, construction, or industrial environments strongly preferred
  • Prior exposure to the electrical or construction industry is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately

Experience, Skill and Abilities
  • Positive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Competence to keep personnel information strictly confidential.
  • Ability to see details and recognize errors, working with precise standards of accuracy.
  • Accurate record-keeping skills and detail orientation
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact and with all levels of the company at field sites and offices, and effectively deal with vendors, customers and regulatory agencies
