Scope of Position:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will help advance ALC’s business through helping expand our Aftermarket Services on complicated systems. We are looking for a team member who is self-motivated, detail oriented, and is customer focused. You will work on solving increasingly complex problems and assist in the training and development of less experienced Field Service Engineers.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide solutions to increasingly complex system problems and lead others on how to resolve problems.
  • Perform system maintenance on field controllers, servers and workstations and field hardware.
  • Communicate issues and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, and/or repairs.
  • Review and provide feedback of equipment to include scheduling and/or modifications needed.
  • Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate and document the status and details of the project with the customer.
  • Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the upgrades/service.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or technical field.
  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
  • Valid and current Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
  • Able to download and troubleshoot increasingly complex HVAC or building automation system logic.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technologies.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience in navigating and integrating into a variety of building automation systems.
  • Able to read and understand Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints.
  • Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
