Controller / Construction Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional to manage the day-to-day financial operations of a growing construction company. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, managing project-related accounting processes, and supporting leadership with reliable financial information.

The position is hands-on and focused on the operational side of construction accounting. Responsibilities include processing invoices, maintaining project budgets, billing customers, and ensuring all financial data related to projects is accurate and properly recorded. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a construction company environment and a strong understanding of the unique accounting processes associated with the industry.

This role may begin as a hybrid position but is expected to transition into a primarily in-office role over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process vendor invoices and maintain accurate accounts payable records
  • Generate and manage customer invoices and accounts receivable
  • Maintain and track project budgets and job cost reports
  • Manage accounting records within ComputerEase software
  • Ensure accurate coding of costs using construction division codes
  • Track and reconcile project change orders and budget adjustments
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and reporting
  • Support leadership with accurate financial data related to projects and company performance
  • Work closely with operations and project management teams to ensure financial accuracy on projects
Qualifications
