Job description

Job Description
As the Associate Director of Product Management on the Payments Experience team, you will lead a team of high-performing Product Managers supporting Best Buy's online and in-store payments experiences. In this role, you'll translate company objectives into clear product direction, ensuring teams focus on solving meaningful customer problems-not just building features. You'll shape product strategy, guide prioritization, and bring clarity to complex decisions, while mentoring your team to deliver impactful, data-informed solutions. This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll influence how Best Buy continues to innovate and elevate the customer experience across payment journeys.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. For this role, you must be located within a drivable distance to our office in Richfield, Minnesota.
What you'll do
  • Own and evolve product strategy aligned to company goals and customer needs
  • Lead and develop product managers to strengthen execution and product thinking
  • Translate strategy into clear, actionable roadmaps
  • Partner with engineering and design to deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and communicate priorities, risks, and progress

Basic qualifications
  • 4 years of relevant Product Management Experience (Dev, UX, Strategy, etc.)
  • 2 years of relevant experience in strategy creation, customer focused solutioning, cross-functional leadership, etc.
  • 2 years of experience leading project execution through strategic direction, cross-functional influence, and/or direct people management
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field OR equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred qualifications
  • 8 years of relevant Product Management Experience
  • 4 years of people management and team leadership experience
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Experience in ecommerce and/or retail payments domains
  • Proven experience leading ecommerce products at scale, with ownership over high-traffic, high-revenue customer journeys
