Position Title

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Computer Science

Job Summary

Tuskegee University is committed to academic excellence, fostering innovation, and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in various fields. Our Computer Science and Data Science programs are rapidly growing with the recent launched the PhD program, which is aligned with the President Strategy of R2 status. The ideal Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Computer Science and Data Science will possess the willingness to push the boundaries of research and education in this transformative field.

  • Teach courses in computer science and data science, including but not limited to: programming, data analysis, machine learning, big data, data visualization, and statistical modeling.
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Grantsmanship
  • Conduct research in computer science, data science or a related field and actively pursuing external funding.
  • Publish in peer-reviewed academic journals and presenting research at national and international conferences.
  • Participate in departmental service and university committees.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the department chair.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field by the start date is required.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Cybersecurity, Al, machine learning, big data, data mining, statistical analysis, data engineering, or related areas.
  • Evidence of effective teaching and commitment to high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research and collaboration with industry or government
  • Demonstrated ability to secure external funding for research
