Job description

The Process Engineer plays a critical role in supporting engineering and production teams to ensure the successful introduction, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. Acting as an extension of the Xerox engineering team, this role involves developing and maintaining production processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and driving quality and efficiency enhancements across operations. The Process Engineer also facilitates collaboration between engineering and production teams to optimize product performance and support lean manufacturing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support new product introductions and engineering initiatives in collaboration with Xerox engineering.
  • Develop, document, validate, and maintain production processes and related documentation.
  • Create and update work instructions, visual aids, process documentation, and engineering standards.
  • Assist in developing process fail-safes, error-proofing methods, and quality control techniques.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to production processes for safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Perform root cause analysis to resolve production and quality issues.
  • Support implementation of engineering changes and product modifications.
  • Assist with pilot builds, engineering trials, and validation activities.
  • Collect, analyze, and report production and quality data to support continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate engineering projects between Xerox and Adelta operations teams.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues related to copier and printer equipment.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics, repair support, and assist with firmware updates and machine configuration.
  • Identify and support process automation opportunities and participate in testing new equipment and methods.
  • Assist production teams during lower engineering activity periods, including customization builds and scheduling priorities.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production associates on new processes and equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and safety throughout production activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum High school Diploma or equivalent.
