Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney (Computer Engineering)

Locations: Dallas, TX | Denver, CO | Houston, TX | New York, NY | Orange County, CA | Palo Alto, CA | San Francisco, CA | Washington, DC
Experience: 2–5 years

Direct Counsel is seeking mid-level Patent Prosecution Associate Attorneys with 2–5 years of relevant experience to join the Intellectual Property practice of a leading Am Law firm. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with strong patent prosecution experience involving advanced computing technologies who are interested in supporting sophisticated intellectual property portfolios for Fortune 200 clients.

Position Highlights
  • 2–5 years of relevant patent prosecution experience

  • At least 3 full years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications directed to advanced computing technologies

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the applicable jurisdiction

  • Degree in Computer Engineering required

  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

  • Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) preferred

  • Strong technical and patent prosecution experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Medical devices

    • Semiconductors and integrated circuits

    • Financial technologies

    • Cybersecurity

    • Networking

    • Cloud computing

    • Software systems
