Title: Electrical CAD Designer
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Omaha, NE
Job Description
  • Position entails designingand running electrical circuits.
  • Prepares detailed functionaland physical design drawings of electrical equipment and relatedfacilities in accordance with accepted design practices and standards.This includes technical area plans, wiring schematics and layout diagramsfor power and controls projects.
  • Select materials and preparematerial lists based on standards, specifications, operation requirementsand engineers' direction.
  • Assembles and reviews projectdrawings for accuracy, completeness, content and compliance with accepteddrawing standards and format.
  • Revises drawings inaccordance with checking feedback and other requirements.
  • Participate in designconferences and make field trips to determine project power, control andgrounding needs and functional requirements.
  • Meets with engineers andfield operational teams to help determine project design scope.
  • Reports on the status ofdesigns to project engineers and project manager.
  • Participates in task forces,conference and training sessions to streamline or re-engineerinternal/external processes as required.
  • Perform calculationsincluding electrical load calculations, conduit and electrical systemsizing, and equipment capacity.
  • Ensure design drawings meetCompany specifications, regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Assist Engineers withresolving any electrical design issues and developing effective solutions.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • An associate's degree inengineering or a related field, a technical degree, or equivalent workexperience.
  • Three to four years ofrelated experience in gas pipeline engineering, operations or constructionis preferred.
  • A strong analytical ability,good interpersonal and human relation skills
  • Good judgment in problemsolving and decision-making
  • Thorough understanding ofrelated drafting tools, procedures and techniques
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD andExcel is required. Experience with Adobe/BlueBeam is a plus.
  • Knowledge in engineering andoperations related, codes, standards and procedures, i.e. (DOT, FERC,OSHA, NNG, etc.)
  • Strong oral and writtencommunication skills
  • Excellent PC skills,including familiarity with Windows environment and proficiency withMicrosoft Office applications
  • Ability to work with changingpriorities and exacting deadlines
  • Ability to make periodicfield trips as required
  • Ability to prioritize andhandle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
