We are actively seeking a Research Manager to join the Murphy Research team. In this role, you will assist in the development, execution, and analysis of projects for a diverse range of Fortune 500 companies. All of our researchers work across industries on diverse projects with clients like, Disney, Riot Games, Hershey, and Allstate. This is an exciting opportunity to continue to grow your research career as you support some of the world's most prominent brands with market assessment, brand strategy, product development, customer loyalty and engagement, and communications research.
About you:
  • You have 2+ years of market research experience, and familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative methods
  • You have a B.A. or M.A. in related field (psychology, anthropology, sociology, preferred)
  • You love teamwork, but you're great at prioritizing and managing multiple projects while you delegate to others and take ownership over your final product
  • You demonstrate great verbal and written communication, and are comfortable managing client relationships and vendor communications on behalf of the Company.
  • Your problem-solving skills are points of strength, and you thrive when challenged by new opportunities
  • You are self-motivated to take initiative and maintain high expectations for quality work that delights the clients you serve

What you'll be doing:
  • You will manage projects holistically from questionnaire design to final report writing
  • You use discretion in decision-making to keep projects moving forward, executing each stage of the project process against project deadlines while responsible for project budget
  • You will collaborate with a team of researchers to lead study progress; you will manage, mentor, and train Research Associates on your project teams, while also consulting with senior researchers and leadership for your guidance as you grow your own experience and skill
  • With strong support from senior leadership, you'll receive on-the-job training in advanced project management, questionnaire design, report writing, methodology, and advanced analytics; you will also be trained in basic interviewing and expand your management skills
  • You will work with large data sets, so an eye for detail is key; your proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint will definitely come in handy! (bonus points for skills in SPSS, R, InDesign, Keynote)
  • In a fast-paced environment, you will utilize strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, and do new things every day!
