Job Description

Position Overview

As Manager, Sales Operations, you will be responsible for leading a team directly supporting all origination and sales activities within the WECC, ERCOT, and SPP footprint across all technologies including onshore wind, solar, storage, transmission, thermal, and emerging technologies with utilities as the primary customer base. You and your team will be responsible for RFP responses to customer solicitations and will directly support originators with customer research and market intelligence. This leader will leverage technology to efficiently and effectively manage customer engagement, proposals, pricing, and research. The Manager, Sales Operations will report directly to the Senior Manager, Sales Operations with a dotted line to the regional Vice President, Origination. This role is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious leader with energy market knowledge and passion for impacting sales.

This position is on-site at Invenergy's Denver office.

Responsibilities

  • Create specific customer and market strategies in close collaboration with Origination, Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Invenergy's internal strategy team.

  • Develop targeted marketing and sales collateral for customers to drive new business and meaningful customer engagement.

  • Develop thorough understanding of customer needs through review of customer Integrated Resource Plans (IRPs), investor presentations, and other market intelligence. Summarize customer needs and help synthesize strategies.

  • Maintain deep understanding and knowledge of Central and Southeast power markets and regulatory activities impacting customers and projects.

  • Review and summarize customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to develop response strategies with Origination and Development. Present strategies to Executive Leadership.

  • Work closely with Sales Ops Senior Manager, regional Originators, and Vice President to develop and execute sales.

  • Execute fulsome responses to customer RFPs for all transactions including Power Purchase Agreements, Build Transfer Agreements, and Development Transfer Agreements. Ensure accuracy and quality of proposals.

  • Manage all operations and logistical aspects pertaining to sales including internal pricing processes. Optimize process efficiency everywhere.

  • Provide tools and guidance to a team of Associates and Analysts responsible for customer proposals, presentations, collateral, and market research. Ensure consistency and efficiency across the team.

  • Utilize technology and software tools, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Power BI, to efficiently manage and track customer opportunities, proposals, and pricing. Drive best practices throughout the team and ensure accurate data and information is available when and where needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 5+ years in the energy sector with demonstrated expertise in sales or consulting and market research.

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and time management skills.

  • Applicants should be process-oriented with high attention-to-detail.

  • Ability to write effectively and communicate concisely.

  • Outstanding problem solving, strategic thinking, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Collaborative leader and team-player who will work with others to deliver results.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform under time and pressure conditions.

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or similar advanced degree.

  • 2+ years managing direct reports, with a strong ability to mentor and support the professional growth of Analysts and Associates.

  • Renewable energy project development experience.

  • Renewable energy project management or construction experience.

Base Pay

$124,000.00 - $144,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 25% - 40%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
