In this individual contributor role, you will help manage the enterprise data catalog, improve data quality, identify and remediate data duplication, and support data stewardship, classification, and compliance efforts aligned to DoD, NIST, and FedRAMP requirements. You will collaborate closely with data stewards, analysts, and engineering teams to ensure the organization's data assets are trusted, well-documented, and properly governed.ResponsibilitiesServe as a contributing member of an established data governance team supporting enterprise data initiativesAdminister, maintain, and enhance the enterprise data catalog, ensuring accurate and up-to-date metadataDevelop and maintain metadata, data lineage, and business glossary content to improve data discoverability and understandingIdentify instances of data duplication and redundancy, and design and implement solutions to remediate themSupport master data management (MDM) efforts to establish authoritative, trusted data sourcesMonitor and measure data quality, identify anomalies, and coordinate remediation activitiesAssist in the development, documentation, and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and proceduresCoordinate with data stewards across business and technical teams to promote consistent data practicesSupport data governance councils and working groups, including preparing materials and tracking action itemsSupport data classification, tagging, and handling practices in accordance with DoD and NIST requirementsAssist with data privacy and compliance activities, including regulatory and audit reportingCollaborate with application, analytics, and engineering teams to ensure data assets are properly governedProduce reports, dashboards, and metrics to communicate data governance progress and data quality statusRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or related fieldMinimum 10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related data-focused roleWorking knowledge of data governance concepts, including data quality, metadata management, and data stewardshipExperience with data cataloging and/or metadata management practicesProficiency writing and interpreting SQL queriesFamiliarity with DoD and NIST data handling, classification, and compliance requirementsStrong analytical, documentation, and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively within a cross-functional teamActive Security Clearance requiredDoD 8570 Level II/III certification requiredDesired QualificationsExperience with a data catalog or data governance platform (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Microsoft Purview)Experience supporting master data management (MDM) initiativesExperience identifying and remediating data duplication and data quality issuesFamiliarity with data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOKExperience in a FedRAMP-authorized or cloud environmentExperience supporting data privacy and regulatory compliance effortsTechnical SkillsSQL (query development and data analysis)Object storage technologies (e.g., Amazon S3)Microsoft Power BI (reporting and dashboarding)Army Vantage (Palantir)Data catalog and metadata management conceptsData quality profiling and remediationData classification, tagging, and lineageMaster data management (MDM) conceptsIPTA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
