Position Summary:
The Channel Manager leads the development of channel-specific business in partnership with key stakeholders. Is responsible for communicating supplier business plans to the sales team. Masters and supports the 5 Core Competencies: business planning, performance evaluation, product and inventory management, pricing and revenue management, demand planning/ forecasting/ budgeting. Responsible for embracing and developing behaviors consistent with BBG's Trade Development mission. Must always adhere to the established business rules. Must embrace and support BBG's Reliability Model. Serves as the local market expert on customers, brands, key sales drivers, trends and market dynamics.
Job Description:
Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate and develop channel-specific business plan in collaboration with sales leads and other key stakeholders.
  • Deliver and communicate channel business plan to sales leaders including all sales tools, initiatives, priorities, and objectives.
    • Monthly/quarterly execution priorities, goals, and tracking against initiatives in accordance with agreed upon strategic objectives.
    • Business plan to include:
      • Distribution plans: pods, accounts sold, volume, etc.
      • Activities/elements, incentives, goals, sell sheets, pricing, innovation, discontinued, allocation, and substitution.
    • Develops creative selling opportunities using Focus Marketing.
    • Manage POS needs both local and suppler offerings.
    • Leads monthly General Sales Meeting for assigned channel.
  • Oversees, measures, and evaluates key channel specific programs to include all KPIs.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in marketing and/or trade development
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
  • Excellent leadership capabilities with strong presentation and interpersonal
  • Ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Demonstrate and exhibit high levels of professionalism
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Interact positively with internal and external individuals
  • Strong business planning and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of trade development fundamentals (supplier, sales, customer and brand)
  • Strong sales, finance, budget management, negotiation and management skills
  • Ability to translate Strategy into relevant marketplace activity
