Healthcare Buyer I
Job Description
Purpose & Scope:
The Healthcare Buyer is responsible for procuring products, supplies and services for VHC Health. This role is responsible for cross-functional collaboration across multiple divisions, including Finance, Supply Chain, and operational areas such as Nursing, IT, Facilities, OR and other areas, to deliver excellent customer service and high quality support, while maintaining strong resource stewardship. The Buyer will help determine supply needs and will make necessary purchases to help the organization remain productive and efficient.
Customer service is the focus of the Healthcare Buyer role, providing consultation to internal customers in Purchasing Operations and Workday ERP system policies and processes.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional experience considered in lieu of education requirement: Two (2) years Supply Chain Management.
Experience:
One (1) years of SCM, Procurement, or SCM operations is preferred.
Experience with ERP systems (Workday) is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
None required.

  • An understanding of purchase order software platforms
  • IT skills to troubleshoot essential computer programs
  • Math skills to make sure all calculations are correct and avoid any unforeseen losses for the company
  • Computer skills, Microsoft Office, Basic Excel experience to include sorting, vlookups, filters, 55 WPM
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to include strong customer service skills and excellent email etiquette to support internal and external customers
