Job description

**SIGN-ON BONUS**
The successful candidate will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 paid at time of hire and $500 paid at the end of 90 days of employment.
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Enterprise Applications and Data Analytics, the Business Intelligence Developer bridges technical development and business insight by designing, building, and maintaining data solutions that empower decision-making across the institution.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using modern BI tools to provide actionable insights for business stakeholders;
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL-based data pipelines and transformations to support analytics and reporting needs;
  • Design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes and ensures data integrity across multiple systems;
  • Collaborate with departments to understand business workflows and translates requirements into technical solutions;
  • Develop and support applications and interfaces that integrate with ERP and other enterprise systems;
  • Analyze business processes and recommend improvements based on data insights;
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and provide training/documentation as needed;
  • Test and validate new features, upgrades, and data processes;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field is required
  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, analytics, or application development is required; experience in an academic environment is highly desired
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, data modeling and data transformation techniques (CTEs, window functions, procedures functions, query optimization, etc.) to support analytics workflows
  • Strong data storytelling skills with experience building dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders
  • Business acumen with the ability to integrate data across multiple systems and align solutions to organizational decision-making needs
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Experience with BI/dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Domo, SAP Crystal Reports)
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or equivalent cloud data platform preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and integration methodologies
  • Experience with version control (git, GitHub)
  • Strong initiative and the ability to be self-directed, resourceful and creative
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Strong customer service orientation, teamwork and collaborative mindset
  • Eager to master new and emerging technologies, including AI and cloud data platforms
  • Python experience preferred (eg pandas, duckdb, polars)
