Apollo is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking individual to join its Investment Operations team in New York as a Bank Debt Closer. This role involves facilitating the closing of bank loan trades across the global platform, requiring meticulous attention to detail, exceptional time management, and strong decision-making abilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with various internal teams, including senior leadership, Investment, Technology, Trading, Finance, and Compliance, as well as external parties such as Agents, Counterparties, Funds, Separately Managed Accounts, and Portfolio Companies.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, risk management, commercial, and interpersonal skills, with a mindset geared towards innovative solutions. They will efficiently collaborate with colleagues at all levels in a fast-paced environment, ensuring tasks are completed with precision and timeliness. Additionally, they will leverage their expertise in bank loan products to drive operational innovation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with a team of closers (local and global) to facilitate bank loan trades.
  • Reconcile prior day's trades using internal tools, review discrepancies, and allocate trades in ClearPar.
  • Coordinate loan closings with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring documentation accuracy and timely settlements.
  • Review and resolve cash or position exceptions, trade issues, and facilitate wire setups for settlements.
  • Assist with amendments and corporate actions, leveraging industry tools such as SyndTrak.
  • Continuously improve processes, mitigate risks, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Actively partner with other Operations team members, working closely with middle office and investment team professionals.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3 to 5+ years of relevant work experience. (e.g. direct bank debt, leveraged loan operations and/or exposure to PAR/Distressed loans)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and ClearPar experience with LSTA & LMA loans, VPM is a plus.
  • Experience and subject matter expertise with primary, and secondary loans, CLOs and knowledge of investment vehicles related to Bank Debt.
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic, initiative, and eagerness to learn and improve skills.
  • Effectively prioritizes workload and encourages continuous improvement.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable communicating with traders, portfolio managers, and stakeholders.

Pay Range
$100,000 - $125,000
