Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Software Developer 3 (Full Stack Developer) opportunity in Los Alamos, NM, to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Per diem available for those who qualify.
Location: Hybrid

The Senior Full Stack Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable enterprise software solutions that enable critical business operations across Los Alamos National Laboratory. This role partners with customers, product owners, and technical teams to deliver modern full-stack applications using C#, ASP.NET, Node.js, JavaScript, REST APIs, PostgreSQL/SQL databases, AWS cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architecture through development, testing, deployment, and operational support. This position serves as a technical mentor, promotes Agile best practices, and drives continuous improvement while delivering secure, high-performing enterprise applications.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise full-stack web applications using C#, ASP.NET, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and jQuery.
  • Design, build, document, and support RESTful APIs for enterprise system integrations and modern application architectures.
  • Develop cloud-ready applications leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) services and cloud-native best practices.
  • Design, optimize, and maintain relational databases including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, and other enterprise database platforms.
  • Develop scalable backend services and responsive front-end interfaces that deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Develop system architecture, technical documentation, implementation plans, and software design specifications.
  • Build and support enterprise integrations between internal and third-party applications.
  • Utilize DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, and deployment automation to improve software quality and delivery.
  • Lead software integration, testing, production deployments, and post-implementation support.
  • Troubleshoot complex software issues and implement sustainable technical solutions.
  • Configure and support SharePoint, CMS, and enterprise web content management platforms.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across development teams.
  • Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enterprise architecture, cloud adoption, and software development practices.
  • Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure all work complies with Laboratory safety, cybersecurity, and information security requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with 8+ years of professional software development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong full-stack development experience using C#, ASP.NET, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and jQuery.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting RESTful APIs.
  • Experience developing applications utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, database design, query optimization, and data modeling.
  • Experience implementing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control (Git/Azure DevOps), automated testing, and deployment automation.
  • Experience with SharePoint, CMS, or enterprise content management systems.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and Scrum.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration, and secure application development.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts while mentoring other developers.

Desired Qualifications:
  • AWS Certified Developer, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Agile or Scrum certification.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized application development.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms.
  • Experience working within DOE, NNSA, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with LANL enterprise applications including Primavera P6, COBRA, CRES, Integrify, or similar systems. UI/UX design and responsive web application development experience.
