Modern Family Law, a rapidly expanding national law firm specializing in Family Law, is seeking a driven, compassionate, and experienced Managing Attorney to join our talented team in Petaluma, CA. This role is hybrid, and the Managing Attorney must live within driving distance of our office in Petaluma, CA.
We are seeking a Managing Attorney to oversee the day-to-day operations in our Petaluma office while handling diverse family law cases and making a meaningful impact on our clients' lives. This position is critical in ensuring the productivity and profitability of the office by balancing legal expertise, team mentorship, and operational management. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dedicated team in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, the Managing Attorney will:
  • Oversee daily operations, productivity, and profitability of the Petaluma office.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop legal staff through training, motivation, and support.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HR on recruitment and policy compliance.
  • Coordinate with other leaders to ensure cross-departmental support.
  • Conduct client consultations and provide legal advice on family law matters.
  • Represent clients in court, prepare legal documents, and negotiate settlements.

Compensation: The pay range for this position in this location is $220,000 - $320,350. Additionally, We are currently offering a $25,000 signing bonus and relocation package. The structure presented is a reliable estimate of the base salary plus potential commissions based on billable hours and collections that this individual is expected to receive. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, billable hour expectations, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Full-time employees are eligible for health insurance with an optional Health Savings Account (HSA), short-term disability, long-term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401(k) Retirement Plan, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.
Additional voluntary programs include voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life insurance, voluntary disability, voluntary long-term care, voluntary critical illness and cancer insurance, and pet insurance. Commuter and transit benefit programs may also be available in certain markets.
Requirements
    • Five (5) or more years of devoted Family Law experience preferred.
    • **Must be within commuting distance to our Petaluma, CA office**
    • Skilled in mentoring and leading a team, while fostering collaboration.
    • Exceptional writing and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a client-focused mindset.
    • Proficient in client counseling, case prep, case management, and courtroom representation.
    • Clear and effective verbal and written legal communication.
    • Able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
    • Committed to delivering excellent client service.
    • Active admission to the California State Bar
