Senior Litigation Career Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Senior Litigation Career Associate Attorney to join the Strategic Advisory & Government Enforcement practice of a prestigious Am Law firm in one of the following offices: Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Houston, Irvine (Orange County), Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Seattle, Silicon Valley (Menlo Park), or Washington, D.C.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 8+ years of complex civil litigation experience to join a highly regarded litigation practice. This is a long-term, non-partnership-track Career Associate position designed for attorneys seeking sophisticated litigation work, meaningful client responsibility, and a sustainable work-life balance while continuing to practice at the highest level.

The successful attorney will spend much of their time representing one of the world's leading technology companies, working on a substantial docket of high-profile litigation. Additional opportunities may include financial services, white collar, privacy, cybersecurity, and government enforcement matters.

Responsibilities
  • Develop case strategy as a key member of leanly staffed litigation teams.

  • Draft dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss, briefs, pleadings, and other substantive litigation filings.

  • Manage fact development and oversee discovery, including e-discovery.

  • Coordinate complex case management, litigation strategy, and project deadlines.

  • Assist with oral argument preparation and participate in oral arguments as opportunities arise.

  • Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary legal teams on sophisticated litigation matters.

  • Support matters involving financial services, white collar, privacy, cybersecurity, and government enforcement issues.

  • Deliver practical, strategic legal advice while managing multiple high-profile matters.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Active membership in a U.S. state bar and eligibility to practice in the applicable office jurisdiction.

  • 8+ years of complex civil litigation experience.

  • Extensive experience drafting motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery documents, and other substantive litigation filings.

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.

  • Experience managing complex discovery, including e-discovery.

  • Demonstrated case management and project management abilities.

  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong academic credentials.

  • Writing sample required.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits
