Position Summary
The Art Department is recruiting for a full-time, nine month tenure track Art Instructor position available August 2026. Instructional areas will include ceramics, 3-D design, art appreciation, and art history as well as teaching dual credit core classes at high school campuses. We are looking for an engaging team player comfortable with traditional, interactive television, and online/hybrid assignments. Class size is usually limited to 35 students. A successful candidate will compassionately commit to rigor and retention through campus partnerships at the departmental, divisional, and institutional levels. Committee work and other duties will be assigned by the department chair or dean. Teaching assignment may include evening classes.
The minimum earned monthly range for teaching nine months is $5,453.00 to $6,143.00. The annual salary is calculated by using the "earned" monthly x 9 months. The annual salary is paid out over twelve months to determine the paid monthly.

Duties & Responsibilities
Regular faculty members help students achieve learning outcomes by teaching assigned classes in accordance with established guidelines and policies and participate in advising and committee assignments, other academic and institutional support activities, and supervisory responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • A Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in art or studio art. Will consider May 2026 graduates.
  • Background in 3D and/or ceramics required.
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, online course development and teaching.
Preferred
Master of Fine Arts Degree with at least 18 graduate studio hours in 3D and/or ceramics
Work Samples
Applicants must include 10-20 samples of their work as well as 10-20 samples of their student's work as part of their application. The samples may be included in a PDF or a web link.
Physical Demands
  • Exhibit keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to twenty pounds.
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Bend, kneel, reach.
  • Utilize telephone system.

Note: Applicants who travel over 200 miles round trip will be reimbursed up to $500 for travel expenses according to the travel reimbursement procedure. Travel reimbursements are not processed until after all interviews have concluded and an offer of employment has been extended to and accepted by the candidate selected for hire.
