Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an Associate MES Engineer to join our Enterprise Applications team, with a focus on Tulip interfaces and integrations. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to grow technical expertise in digital manufacturing, process automation, and user interface development. The Associate MES Engineer will help configure, support, and improve MES applications that streamline production processes, improve data visibility, and enable scalability for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, maintain, and enhance Tulip applications to support manufacturing
  • Develop and optimize user interfaces, dashboards, and workflows within Tulip.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production teams to capture requirements and translate them into MES solutions.
  • Support integration of Tulip with other enterprise systems (ERP, PLM, shop floor equipment).
  • Troubleshoot MES issues and provide support to end users on Tulip-based applications.
  • Assist in documenting system designs, configurations, and standard work instructions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes through MES tools.
  • Ensure compliance with data integrity, cybersecurity, and system validation standards. 

Qualifications 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience). 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in MES, manufacturing systems, or related software engineering roles
  • Familiarity with MES platforms (coursework, certifications, or project exposure
  • preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Tulip MES platform (app building, connectors, triggers,
  • dashboards)
  • Exposure to manufacturing or aerospace environments
  • Knowledge of ERP/PLM integrations and APIs
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and digital transformation concepts
  • Experience with using PowerBI to create analytical tools
  • Experience with Node.js programming 

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Diligent organizational skills
  • Considerable attention to detail

Technology Stack:

  • MES Platform: Tulip Interfaces (App Editor, Triggers, Connectors, Dashboards)
  • Integrations: ERP, PLM, and custom APIs
  • IoT & Device Connectivity: Edge IO, REST APIs
  • Collaboration & DevOps: Jira, Power BI for analytics
  • Automation & Hardware Interfaces: Barcode scanners, digital work instructions, test station data acquisition
  • Experience with all technologies is not required - exposure to one or more of these areas is beneficial and supported through on-the-job learning.

 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office and workshop environment.
  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work hands-on with hardware and equipment on the production floor.
