Job description

The Associate Software Engineer - DevOps Engineer is responsible for all stages of the software development lifecycle using a variety of technologies and tools to build impactful software solutions. The scope of this job includes building and optimizing comprehensive solutions that prioritize end-user efficiency and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly available and scalable infrastructure and applications on the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Contribute to automation scripts and workflows for deployment, configuration, and monitoring using tools like PowerShell, Bash, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous integration and deployment.
  • Monitor system performance, help troubleshoot issues, and support optimization of system resources for improved scalability and reliability.
  • Participate in resolving infrastructure and application issues to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and respond to incidents.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and best practices in DevOps and cloud computing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 0 - 2 years related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to software engineering practices with an interest in DevOps.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies including Azure, PowerShell, and SQL Server.
  • Awareness of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Introductory understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic, Azure Monitor, and Site24x7.
  • Experience with source control systems like GitHub.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to collaborate via documentation tools like Confluence, Miro, and SharePoint.
  • Commitment to team rituals with 80% attendance expectation.
  • Relevant certifications such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Developer Associate, or GCP Associate Cloud Engineer.
  • Exposure to microservices architectures.
  • Awareness of security best practices in cloud environments.
  • Interest or experience in supporting Redis in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with GCP cloud services and tooling.
  • Healthcare industry experience
