Job Description

The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County ("BXDA") is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. By "Pursuing Justice with Integrity," the BXDA places a focus on assistance for crime victims while simultaneously ensuring fairness to defendants. Moreover, the BXDA aims to balance the need to seek appropriate punishment for certain crimes while recognizing when punitive measures do not adequately advance justice. By recognizing these significant distinctions and acting accordingly, BXDA has established a standard of excellence in the representation of the Bronx community at large, which continues to grow stronger every day.
In furtherance of this mission, the BXDA seeks experienced and enthusiastic Application Developer.
Job Responsibilities:
Specific duties include but not limited to the following:
- Plan, design, develop, and implement custom applications to support in-house business processes.
- Perform hands-on development of web applications and provide technical leadership and guidance as required.
- Assist with developing full stack web applications in the Microsoft Azure environment using Azure technologies including App Service, Active Directory, SharePoint, Azure DevOps, Azure CI/CD Pipelines, Azure Functions, Storage, & Oracle/SQL Server Databases.
- Gather and document system requirements and follow Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Agile/Waterfall methodologies to deliver code releases.
- Provide production support and maintain existing systems by researching and troubleshooting any problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and two years of satisfactory full-time (not classroom-based) experience in computer applications development planning, design, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, integration, performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management; or a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time (not classroom-based) information technology experience of which at least 2 years must have been computer applications development experience.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in .NET software development, web and/or client-server development.

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
2. An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.
