Job Description:

The Airborne Focus Factory of L3 Harris Space and Airborne Systems is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mid-level manufacturing engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about assembly integration and testing of low volume, high-precision products. The selected candidate will work both independently and collaboratively to review, plan, integrate, and test unique opto-mechanical and thermoelectric products in a low volume setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform tasks in a manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
  • Review and provide feedback on electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical drawings and designs.
  • Translate drawing requirements into detailed work instructions for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex end-products.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines to ensure program schedule milestones are met.
  • Own product schedule development - coordinate across disciplines to ensure agreement amongst stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot issues individually and collaboratively to find quick and safe solutions that minimize schedule delays.
  • Balance multiple projects and priorities and communicate clearly to operations leadership.
  • Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices.
  • Be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed.
  • Strong communication skills

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to U.S. security clearance
  • 2+ years of professional experience in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment
  • Professional experience with mechanical systems/products manufacturing

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active U.S. security clearance.
  • Experience in the Aerospace or Defense industry.
  • Familiarity with machinery, machine building, and precision engineering.
  • Experience with Optical Metrology.
  • Knowledge of mechanical builds and tolerances, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $63,500.00 - $117,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
