Job Description:

The Airborne Focus Factory of L3 Harris Space and Airborne Systems is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mid-level manufacturing engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about assembly integration and testing of low volume, high-precision products. The selected candidate will work both independently and collaboratively to review, plan, integrate, and test unique opto-mechanical and thermoelectric products in a low volume setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform tasks in a manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
  • Review and provide feedback on electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical drawings and designs.
  • Translate drawing requirements into detailed work instructions for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex end-products.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines to ensure program schedule milestones are met.
  • Own product schedule development - coordinate across disciplines to ensure agreement amongst stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot issues individually and collaboratively to find quick and safe solutions that minimize schedule delays.
  • Balance multiple projects and priorities and communicate clearly to operations leadership.
  • Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices.
  • Be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed.
  • Strong communication skills

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to U.S. security clearance
  • 2+ years of professional experience in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment
  • Professional experience with mechanical systems/products manufacturing

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active U.S. security clearance.
  • Experience in the Aerospace or Defense industry.
  • Familiarity with machinery, machine building, and precision engineering.
  • Experience with Optical Metrology.
  • Knowledge of mechanical builds and tolerances, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $63,500.00 - $117,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
