Job description

Turpin Orthodontics is looking for an Orthodontic Assistant to join our established Ruston/West Monroe/Monroe team!

Schedule:
  • Full-time.
  • Monday through Thursday from 7:45AM-5:15PM.
  • Fridays from 7:45AM to 12:00PM.

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of orthodontic assisting experience is required.
  • Must be willing to travel to our Monroe, West Monroe, and Ruston locations on a weekly basis.

Job Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Taking extraoral and intraoral photographs.
  • Taking dental impressions.
  • Sterilization and packaging of orthodontic instruments.
  • Disinfecting equipment and operatories.
  • Maintaining inventory control of all lab equipment, supplies, instruments, and consumables.
  • Preparing clinicians’ chair-side set-ups.
  • Tying and untying patients.
  • Applying orthodontic appliances under the supervision of the orthodontist.
  • Pouring models.
  • Fabricating retainers.
  • Cleaning the lab and operatories, sweeping/mopping as needed.
  • Cleaning common areas and removing the trash.
  • Providing oral hygiene and home care instructions to patients and family members.
  • And adherence to all OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
