Essential Functions of Activities Assistant:

  • Schedule, pre-plan and implement floor activities based on center activity schedule
  • Use monthly calendar ideas to plan and organize special floor activities
  • Prepare special snacks with residents
  • Set up the dining room tables for activities
  • Clean up after all activities
  • Complete required logs and charting
  • Keeping all activity areas clean, safe and free from clutter
  • Assist residents to and from common areas as stated by their care plan
  • Assist other departments with residents as needed and required
  • Weekends, holidays and evenings required

Qualifications of Activities Assistant:

  • High School Diploma or general equivalency is required
  • 6 college credits in applicable study as required by NCCAP is preferred
  • 500 hours of experience in activity programming is preferred
  • Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant or NCCAP Certification is preferred
  • Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
  • Must be willing to obtain CNA license.
