Summary:
Supports underwriting staff in all associated tasks for existing and new insurance pool/program business as delegated.
Essential Duties and Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assist the underwriter in managing new and existing accounts and organizing information according to Letter of Authority, if applicable.
  • Open and maintain hard files and files in the agency management system (Origami).
  • Prepare and issue Certificates of Coverage as requested.
  • Process new applications, organize information received, enter exposure information and notes into database, and maintain files.
  • Record Documents (emails, faxes, mail, etc.) into the agency management system (Origami).
  • Assist in binding new accounts.
  • Assist with closing files.
  • Process and issue endorsements.
  • Process renewal applications, data, and renewal binding documents.
  • Crosstrain and assist other employees with projects or tasks when needed.
  • Assist with other general office duties, including answering phones, processing mail, scanning, photocopying, filing, shipping, and ordering supplies.
  • Other job-related projects or assignments to assist underwriting leadership as delegated.

Competencies:
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office programs and the ability to learn other business software programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in teams.
  • Possess a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and be detail oriented.
  • Professional office dress is mandatory.
  • Must present oneself in a professional manner, including personal hygiene and appearance.
  • Regular attendance is essential and expected for the effective operation of the company.

Qualifications:

Required
  • High school diploma.
  • Obtain a Washington State Property & Casualty Insurance Producers License within 12 months (courses and testing provided by Company).

Preferred

Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:
Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone on a constant basis for at least 7-10 hours per day.
Speech and hearing are sufficient for in-person and telephone communication on a constant basis for at least 7-10 hours per day.
Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
Ability to sit at a desk on a constant basis for at least 7-10 hours per day.
Hourly Pay Range: $26.44-$31.25

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
