Student Assistant 1 -Stone Lab

Responsibilities are basic and routine in nature. This may include performing administrative duties in an office, assisting in a research laboratory, aid faculty/staff in supporting academic programs or patient care. Duties will be clear and direct. The Student Assistant will require excellent customer service and strong organizational skills and will represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.
Responsibilities:
  • Conducts interviews and researches subject for article development as sole author or in cooperation with other authors for website
  • Helps develop promotional emails and flyers for Stone Lab course student recruitment
  • Creates educational text for display panels for the public on topics like harmful algal blooms, pharmaceuticals in the water, wetlands and aquaculture
  • Develops news releases on program research and events for public awareness and promotion
  • Assists in the development of publication graphics and layout with graphic designer
  • Helps to write short scripts to be used for YouTube researcher summaries
  • Develops brochures, fact sheets and posters covering outreach programming
  • Creates social media posts on program research and outreach
  • Updates media lists and publication database
