Job Title: Yoga Instructor

Department: Group Fitness

Reports to: Group Fitness Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for delivering high-energy, engaging, and safe group exercise classes while providing guidance on proper fitness techniques. This role ensures a positive and motivating experience for class participants while maintaining safety standards and promoting the club’s fitness programs.

Key Responsibilities

Class Instruction & Member Engagement

• Lead dynamic, well-structured group fitness classes tailored to various fitness levels.

• Greet, introduce, and welcome participants to create an inclusive and motivating environment.

• Acquaint new participants with class procedures and expectations.

• Instruct participants on effective workout methods, proper form, and techniques.

• Monitor and correct participant form using positive reinforcement.

• Prepare and organize necessary equipment, music, and instructional materials for each class.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all exercises are performed safely, adhering to fitness industry and company safety standards.

• Maintain awareness of class participants and modify exercises when needed for individual needs.

• Follow and enforce all department and company policies regarding safety and facility use.

Member Support & Promotion

• Provide assistance and answer participant questions to enhance their fitness experience.

• Promote group fitness classes, encouraging member participation and engagement.

• Assist in club-wide activities and events to support member involvement.

• Keep management informed of member feedback and facility needs.

Additional Duties

• Stay updated on fitness industry trends and continuously improve instructional techniques.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to demonstrate and perform exercise routines for extended periods.

• Ability to frequently lift and move up to 65 pounds, depending on class type
