Job Summary:
American Fidelity is seeking a Senior HCM Workday Analyst to serve as a technical expert for Workday HCM. The role involves managing HCM modules, integrations, and reporting, while collaborating with team members to enhance the use of Workday across various HR functions.
Responsibilities:
• Serves as a technical expert for Workday HCM, including all HCM modules/functionality, integrations, security and reports.
• Serves on the Platform Team, working with the Workday Operations Director and other team members as a cohesive team.
• Participates in local Workday user group(s), stays abreast of best practices/Workday trends/practices in other companies, and achieves/maintains Workday Certifications applicable to the role.
• Provide consultation to HCM Area Experts and Platform Team members to build domain knowledge, gather requirements, achieve workflow/process improvements and provide solutions and impact analysis.
• Serve as subject matter expert on current and upcoming Workday capabilities and cross-train users as needed.
• Evaluate releases and functionality to identify opportunities to improve and optimize the use of Workday.
• Configure, test, validate, and implement Business Process changes and other changes as needed in Workday.
• Assist in testing of integrations, security, and annual events.
• Assist HCM Area Experts in maintaining master data values in Workday (Example: Job Profile, Job Family, Job Group, Roles, Custom Organization Types, Positions, Locations, etc).
• Serve as an escalation resource for Tier 2 & 3 issues.
• Provide input and knowledge sharing with HCM Area Experts, Platform Team members, and Colleagues as appropriate.
• Participate in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen.
• Maintain policies and procedures and applicable documentation for all processes/tasks, including detailed SOPs in case someone needed to provide back-up responsibilities.
• Manage HCM system integrations within the architecture of the HR/Finance system and middleware; crossed trained to assist with the FIN system integrations as needed.
• Provide support for HCM inbound and outbound integration issues, changes to existing integrations, as well as new integrations.
• Provide support for incident management and integration monitoring.
• Perform routine break/fix support and regression testing; support the inbound/outbound interfaces to the system and middleware.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, clear documentation, and problem resolution.
• Analyze and translate functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications.
• Ensure integrations function as designed based on functional and technical requirements.
• Consult with business and technical teams about interface design and maintenance; collaborate with other experts and Platform Team members on design decisions.
• Design and develop interfaces and conduct unit and integration tests.
• Understand and follow Data Governance and ensure attention to data quality.
• Understand and follow defined integration/development standards and best practices.
• Understand and ensure security and data privacy standards.
• Develop and maintain simple to complex Workday reports, including matrix and composite reports, utilizing Workday Report Writer and Report Designer.
• Analyze, design, and build new custom reports using standard Workday reporting functionality (Example: Report Writer, Calculated Fields).
• Ensure custom reports function as designed based on business requirements.
• Provide support for existing custom reports in Workday.
• Document the report function and design to facilitate maintenance.
• Participate in report reviews, including understanding and ensuring security and data privacy standards.
• Provide analysis of impacts to reporting based on new releases or updates to system functionality and recommend/apply changes.
• Support efforts of HCM Area Experts in delivering meaningful metrics, trends, and analytical insights through Workday reporting and dashboards.
• Working with Security experts, assist in configuring, maintaining, and advising on security within the Workday application (including domain security policies, roles, and role assignments).
• Regarding integrations and third-party software, coordinate with vendors to understand new requirements or technology scope and association with new functionality and security.
• Develop and maintain awareness data security and comply with policies and procedures.
• Stay updated on new security features within the application’s future roadmap, and working with Security experts and Platform Team members to implement where possible.
• As a member of the Platform team, work in unison with other team members to support the overarching prioritization and timelines as prescribed by the Workday Operations Director.
• Meet assignments and projects in timely manner.
• Monitor progress on assignments; develop alternatives and/or reassess prioritization in a timely manner with other stakeholders when off-schedule.
• Maintain workload transparency within the team.
• Attend Platform Team daily agile meetings and other prioritization meetings as prescribed by the Workday Operations Director.
• Cross-train as needed in areas of specialty and back up others as needed.
• Coordinate changes with the Change Management Lead to ensure appropriate communications and trainings are achieved for successful user adoption.
• Participates in local Workday user group(s), stays abreast of best practices/Workday trends/practices in other companies, and achieves/maintains Workday Certifications applicable to the role.
• Perform special duties as directed by human resource management as it applies to HR projects such as process improvement initiatives, Affiliate needs, and company/division initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Serves as a technical expert for Workday HCM, including all HCM modules/functionality, integrations, security and reports.

• Effective understanding of HR operations and payroll.
• Experience in employee data management.
• Proficiency with PC Windows-based software.
• Knowledge of computer programming, logic, systems analytic and mathematical skills.
• Proficiency in Workday HCM report writing (Workday Report Writer and Calculated Fields).
• Experience with designing and implementing ETL processes and the use of ETL tools.
• Ability to work and coordinate with third parties on data-related inquiries.
• Strong experience with interface, networking, and data warehousing technologies, as well as design, relational database technologies, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST and WS standards).
• Strong technical experience with XML and Java.
• Knowledge of Workday implementation tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, and iLoad).
• Understand basic database architecture, tables, functional interactions, and recognize and understand impacts to downstream systems.
• Serve as the HRIS partner supporting designated HCM Areas in Workday, such as Core HR, Benefits, Talent, Advanced Compensation, Payroll, Recruiting, Learning, Journeys, etc.
