Position: Television Video Editor
Department: Advisors Excel Media
Reporting to: TV Production & Creative Arts Manager
Location: Topeka, KS - onsite
Overview:
Do you love creating compelling content through video editing? Do you want to work and collaborate with some of the best in television advertising? Our talented team helps our independent financial advisors create television advertisements to bring their viewers valuable, insightful, and compelling information to help them plan their own unique retirement experiences.
Advisors Excel Media is seeking a Video Editor to join its Television Team. This position will handle all aspects of video editing - combining raw footage and audio, photo stills, graphics and selecting background music. In collaboration with the team, you will produce long format TV shows, two-minute interview segments, TV commercials and other projects.
This position will work in our Topeka, Kansas studio. Advisors Excel will not sponsor applicants for work visas. If you're a stellar editor who brings a creative, hardworking, and positive attitude to all you do, we'd love to hear from you!
What you'll do:
  • Turn raw video footage into seamless final TV advertisements seen in markets across the country
  • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the video
  • Improve and correct lighting, coloring and faulty footage
  • Edit videos in an on-site, studio environment
  • Assist production team with studio shoots to include camera operation, running live graphics, floor directing, or monitoring audio
  • Communicate effectively with clients and work in close collaboration with the team, incorporating feedback from various stakeholders
  • Maintain production timelines and ensure video assets are delivered to television stations on schedule
  • Research and stay current with market trends in video and studio production

Experience you'll bring:
  • 1-5 years of video editing experience
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing
  • A demo reel that clearly exhibits knowledge and execution of impactful video production and editing experience
  • Familiar with video file formats, media file conversion and editing video for TV broadcast
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and complete within deadlines
  • Give and receive constructive feedback in a positive, professional manner and perform multiple revisions

  • Familiarity with a fast-paced studio production environment
  • Video editing experience at a TV news organization
  • Working knowledge of After Effects to help create TV motion graphics
  • Television control room experience
  • Studio camera operating experience
