Job description

Summary :
The janitor will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in our shop environment. This role is essential in supporting our daily operations and requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. The janitor will be responsible for three facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, especially in high-traffic areas.
  • Empty and dispose of waste in designated receptacles; manage recycling bins and hazardous waste according to company policies.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas; restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and tools in designated areas.
  • Wash windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces within the facility.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks to identify potential issues (e.g., leaking pipes, faulty lighting) and report them to the appropriate personnel.

  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums.
  • Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning supplies, ensuring compliance with company health and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members to support a safe and organized workspace.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience as a janitor or in a similar cleaning role, especially in an industrial or shop environment.
  • Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of safety protocols when handling cleaning supplies and working in a shop environment.
  • Physically capable of standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours if needed.
  • Forklift experience required.

Salary Description
$18-$20/hour
