GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW

Securing Truck rate including CNT or House truck. Negotiate with trucker to secure competitive rate. Research US and Canada trucking market.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • Source trucking companies from various web sites and internal programs.
  • Maintain trucking companies rate tariff.
  • Maintain trucking companies contact information for job orders and rate requests.
  • Work directly with trucking companies and HMM Pricing departments.
  • Process CNT trucking requests.
  • Assist Truck Dispatch when needed to secure truck power and address truckers rate questions.
  • Assist Truckers with E-Truck questions and issues.
  • Ensure new truck vendors are set up correctly and completely in system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Communication skills with co-workers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn knowledge of shipping industry and intermodal truck operations.
  • Computer skills, able to work with MS office tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
  • General understanding of International Container Business especially inland service in US area.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in 3PL (Third-Party Logistics), supply chain, or the transportation industry is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a fast-paced office environment or customer service-oriented role is a plus.

ENVIRONMENT / EQUIPMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work performed in an office environment where the noise level is moderate. Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk around the office. Frequently required to work on a computer. Occasionally required to use force to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.

The pay range listed for this position is the anticipated starting salary or wage range, and the final offered rate will be based on individual merit and the relative compensation of employees in similar positions.
