Job Description: Group Fitness Instructor

Position Summary

We are seeking an energetic, motivating, and passionate Group Fitness Instructor to lead engaging, safe, and effective fitness classes for our members. The ideal candidate will inspire participants of all fitness levels to achieve their goals while creating a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic group fitness classes (e.g., strength training, HIIT, dance fitness, cycling, yoga, or specialty formats).
  • Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate participants of varying abilities.
  • Ensure proper use of equipment and uphold safety standards throughout all sessions.
  • Build strong rapport with members, encouraging consistency, motivation, and positive lifestyle habits.
  • Stay current on industry trends, certifications, and continuing education.
  • Represent the facility in a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.
  • Assist in promoting group fitness programs and special events to drive participation.

Qualifications

  • Current nationally recognized group fitness certification (e.g., Les Mills, Zumba, Yoga Alliance, or equivalent).
  • CPR/AED certification
  • Prior experience teaching group fitness classes preferred.
  • Excellent communication, motivational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different fitness levels and create an inclusive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of exercise science, proper form, and injury prevention.
